These pages contain more detailed information on the services which the Union for Students offers students at the various Universities of Applied Sciences.

Whilst you are studying you should join one of the trade unions which support the Union for Students. Your choice of trade union will depend on the field of your studies and/or the profession which interests you. On these pages you will also discover the benefits of joining a trade union even before you graduate.

You can browse the OUPS@ newsletter of the Union for Students using the links at the upper edge and you can also order OUPS@ to be sent to your own e-mail address. This would keep you updated with the world of work and with any changes which are taking place.

Lectures on subjects related to the world of work are available from the Union for Students as are training services – completely free of charge. Look at our offers and place an order for training to be held at your own college.

On the World of Work Info pages you will find a complete package of basic facts on employment matters: What is the significance of an employment contract, and of a collective agreement on the terms and conditions of work? Which laws have a bearing on my employment contract? What is the role of a shop steward? What are the elements which will constitute my pay, and what happens if I am made redundant – will my livelihood be secured?

Look at the pages, and if these lead to further questions, don’t hesitate get in touch!
